Jun. 21, 2012: US webcam snoop freed from prison and not deported back

Dharun Ravi, who was convicted of hate crime after using a webcam to secretly stream footage of his roommate kissing another man, is freed from jail. Federal immigration authorities said on Monday he would not be deported to his native India, where he lived until he was five years old.
